thanks for the info. yeah, it's too bad. it's one of the few channels i'm interested in.

HOWEVER...there's a new channel, 51, i think..that has WEST WING a few times a week
at 8pm and a recap of all that week's episodes on Saturday.

West Wing has to be one of the BEST tv programs i ever saw.
it makes me doubly sad to see it however given the idiots in the oval office at present.

and it has a taste of that great flick 'american president'...

will we EVER see a US gov't with that much intellect?

I have been watching Big Love for some fun. I visited Salt Lake City once.. so I have been finding it quite entertaining. I agree about West Wing..

The West Wing was created by Aaron Sorkin, the same person who wrote The American President. Apart from the fast-paced walk-and-talk style that would become a trademark of the show, The American President also featured many of the same gags that were later re-cycled by "The Wing."

Yes, The West Wing is the best dramatic television series of all time. The Business Channel, on Digiturk Channel 51, is currently showing Season 5. It is generally (read: by me) considered to be the weakest season of the show. Aaron Sorkin, and his directing partner Thomas Schlamme, left the show after the fourth season, and Season 5 was a bridge between the heavily episodic, character-based drama of the first four seasons and the more plot-driven (read: shit) narrative style of the final two seasons.

Incidenteally, I was tempted this morning to send The Business Channel an irate email (for I am an obnoxious prig) since they seem to be airing the episodes out of order. They showed the last episode of Season 5, Memorial Day, on Monday, and I was expecting to see the first episode of Season 6 last night. For reasons beyond comprehension, they decided to air No Exit instead, which is the episode just before the penultimate one of Season 5. Fuckwits.

On another note, it's the third season finale of The Sopranos tonight.

Arikan, that was a great bit of info! thanks. hey, never having seen other episodes of West Wing, I
am hoping that i get to see HOW MUCH BETTER they are...hopefully 51 will be able to show the others.
and yes, i noticed last night too that it was out of order...geez, how can we contact this channel and tell them to get their collective acts together...and to request the REST of West Wing...

i'm often at a loss how to proceed with Digiturk.I don't see a way to contact them...at least not in English.
it seems that all communication goes in one direction. they have done
their best to remove human contact from their screw ups...if we can't bitch at them, then
they don't need to improve. the only number i have to call is for their teknik service...a lot of good that does.

what if we circulated a petition amongst the viewers ... could we swing things in a more 'customer-focused'
direction with them? or are they, like so many other corporations (and the government) above all of that.
'they KNOW what's good for us and will force it down our gullets, whether we like it or not' kinda attitude?

we all seem to forget that we are SUPPOSED to be the ones who support these organizations. if we stop watching, will it affect them? probably not, there are so many who are passive and just accept crappy service.

with companies like Digiturk, if the consumer isn't happy, shouldn't the company know about it and try to improve?

i have such a strange sense of what's right and wrong, i guess!!

Digiturk is just a platform for The Business Channel; they don't own it. The latter had a fairly active website until a few months ago, but it's off-line at the moment.

The Business Channel did show the first four seasons this summer; unfortunately, it was only available on cable and satellite then, and not Digiturk. I am sure they will re-run them in a few months. I'll let you know when they do.
