I'm bit-torrenting this show from the makers of Deadwood and having my mind blown on a regular basis. Quasi-Christian mythology transplanted to dope-smoking S California surfing family. Anyone else seen? Would welcome your thoughts on WTF is going on. If not, then recommended viewing.

It received a very cool reaction from the critics and the public alike, and HBO confirmed on Tuesday that the show will not be back for a second season. I am looking forward to seeing it, if only to bitch about it incessantly afterwards.

By the way, Battlestar Galactica is still the most pompous, sanctimonious, and, well, SHIT show currently on television.

"Who is the last Cylon?"
OH, WHO GIVES A fcuk, YOU ****!

Na-na-na-naa-na!

If you're saying that Cattlecar got a little bit lost in the third season, particularly in the season closer, then I'm totally with you. But on the whole it's been a fantastic ride: a sci-fi show that's not afraid to address issues like Iraq, torture, occupation, and the legitimate use of political violence up to and including genocide and suicide bombing. All this plus Caprica Six and lots of cool FX. I'm also overjoyed that there's only to be one more season. Shows SHOULD have limited lifespans. Otherwise you get the Lost problem.

With luck they'll close it all off with a satisfying end and Gaius Balthar will prove to be the nexus of a Cyclon/Human merging, or some such bollocks.

As to J from C, it really is great. It has that super-dense super-obscene dialogue that Deadwood had. Plus weird mystical shit going on. Cancelled, huh? Maybe they'll have enough warning to close it all off neatly. here's hoping.

The last episode of JFC was last Sunday. I am staying away from spoilers, so I would not be able to tell you if everything wasn't tied up neatly.

BSG - I might give it a second shot. Cos that's just how I roll...

Then I'll suck down the final episodes this weekend had have myself a Yoost (spelling?) family marathon. I'll offer a spoiler-free review Monday, bandwidth permitting.

I'm planning a hi-res video of me pontificating, complete with streaming links to clips from the show with a choice of subtitles in Turkish, English and Parseltongue. The video conference Q&A afterwards will be optional.
