Albeit a filler, another good episode last night. It could have only been bettered by the presence of that other famous Nigerian, namely Dr Alban, and his signature ditty that still rings in many an ear: "Cocaine will blow your brain and ecstasy will mash your life." (Incidentally, Albie, that's exactly why people take those drugs)
Eko's backstory was actually interesting and the way it linked him to the island made sense for once. And, in one single episode, the writers, as well as Dominic Monaghan, managed to change the aura around Charlie from utter uselessness to heartwrenching pathos. But enough with the 29th Psalm already!
I loved the way Sawyer's become the bitch of the island: noone takes him seriously anymore and everybody knows that he has a good heart.
Sun and Jin are the sexiest couple on television.
That is all.

Last night's episode:
I am not the biggest fan of Charlie but his being turned into an apostate by the rest of the (hypocritical) gang was fcuking unfair - he is annoying and all but it is obvious he has his heart in the right place. Half the beach have shot/maimed/cheated on the other half yet the former are as quickly absolved of their sins as the rest forget their pain. Yet when it comes to Charlie, they all go supercilious on his ass and cast him out. Fuckwits. I have also observed that the quality of episodes as well as their revelations about the island are conversely proportional to the billing of that particular episode's A-Plot character. Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Locke-centric episodes have been sucking ass but the Charlie/Hurley/Eko episodes not only rawk but actually unveil possible (and, in their own way, logical) clues about the island, too. Last night's was the second best episode of the season after the Hurley-flashback one.
And yes, I know: posting on this thread is akin to masturbation for I and I alone enjoy it but, what can I say, it's a hobby...

Em and I both agree Locke was well out of order hitting Charlie...but not as out of order as some of the supposed english accents on display through Charlie's life. And what was all that bullshit his Mum was saying "you've got to get us out of here Charlie." What out of that completely normal British working class home? It's hardly the hell of a fecking trailer park now is it?! Let me guess was it written in the states par chance?

Oh - Charlie's mum's accent was brilliant: Manc crossed with Geordie crossed with Pakistani crossed with Kentucky. The writers on this show must have this "Idiot's Guide to Britain" in front of them, from which they just cull random, stereotypical "facts". For fcuk's sake, the has-been rock band is fronted by two brothers, one of whom is called "Liam". Easy there, Captain Analogy...
Laugh out loud moments:
Sawyer calling Hurley Jabba.
Ana Lucia to Jack, pointing towards Kate: "Are you hitting that?"
And that Libby is not at all suspicious, no siree...

Have you seen this website? It's filled in a lot of the blanks for me - you just gotta be careful you don't learn about what's still to happen.

No, I haven't - but I avoid "Lost" websites at all costs for fear of being spoiled. It's refreshing to know absolutely sod all about the upcoming episodes. That's why I read the recaps of individual episodes at http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com after I've seen them and I try to pick up there what I missed while watching the episodes.

fcuking dreadful episode last night; quite possibly, and I am channelling the Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons here, the worst episode ever. Ludicrously contrived execution with character motives that came out a-limping from Lost fan-fiction. Slimy Sawyer and Darth Charlie: wow - there's a couple of evil geniuses you don't wanna cross paths with on a lonely street corner.

I think the writers just wanted to reintroduce Sawyer as a "love-to-hate-him" character for the audience as he was getting a bit too "cuddly". Still, it was fcuking pointless. And you just know that in an episode or two, everything will be back to normal.
I love the way that the show has completely disbanded the more interesting plot points like, "where the fcuk has Desmond run off to?" and "what has happened to Daielle, Walt, Michael etc?"
Has anyone ever read Stephen King's "The Stand"? Or any of his "mythology" books like "Eyes of the Dragon", "The Dark Tower" etc? There is a character called, alternatively, Walter, Flagg, Randall Flagg etc in those books who is a bizarre villain-like character at first who then turns out to be pretty much the devil. Locke reminds me of him.

Watching Lost is becoming a love and hate situation for me
I missed the first 10 minutes last night and when I contiuned watching the Korean woman was telling about the attack ..the people decided to get armed etc..It was ultra boring to see how lame it gets when they play with characters in the most artificial way. Sawyer was saying I have never done anything good in my life and sh..t like this.
I am almost giving up to think that I should be patient to see the final episode..The scenario is getting worse..And I am getting more pessimistic about it.
Ana Lucia hooks up with the good doctor. They get marry ,have dozens of children and Mr. Echo baptises all of them.
Sawyer really falls for freckles and turns out to be a good man finally.
Lots of crap like that.

That would have made more sense than the artifice that was last night's episode.
