Nova will showcase Turkish family who walks on all fours
I will be watching this on Wednesday via a public television station.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/allfours/
Tonight, it's "Ugly Betty' night. Has anybody heard of this show?

ofcourse they will because that's the most interesting thing Turkey has to offer.
After the whistling family in Trabzon ofcourse, which they showd approx. 10 years ago.
they got a Turk to listen to if it was anything remote to Turkish
her answer: No.
afterwhich the commentator followed with:
Even though she said it has nothing to do with the Turkish language our experts think it does.

I watched the preview and am left feeling that whatever the reason is behind this 'phenomenon' - this poor family are just going to be used and exploited for genetic research, while the chances of them completely understanding what's happening appear to be pretty slim. Don't like it.

Ugly Betty is a remake of a Colombian novela, which is doing surprisingly well in the US.

It is a rare phenomenon indeed that scientists and clinicians deem it extremely important and possibly present a key in understanding genetics. They are doing their 'jobs' and it does indeed appear that the downdise could be exploitation since they are not examining actual human beings and not some relics or petrified remains.
As for Ugly Betty...Yes, TP, it is totally huge in the US. Salma Hayek, who brought Ugly Betty to the US television audience appeared in the last two episodes. I just don't get it that Betty doesn't get a 'stylist' to work with her on her appearance.

In the same way that in 1998, 1999 you had a spate of "mobsters talikng with shrinks" movies and films - Sopranos on TV and Analyze This on film, you have a similar thing hapening now with Devil Wears Prada on Film and Ugly Betty on TV. Ugly Betty is just one of the 11 or so repetitive Novela genres that rotate regularly through serials around the world, Melodramas being the most popular, Ugly Duckling stories (UB), Fish out of water, switched at birth, rags to riches, Karma/payback, good conquers evil, etc.

Ugly Betty, alongside Heroes, is the only true run-away hit of this TV season. I'm looking forward to it, mainly because Lucy Davis is in it.

The actress'who plays 'Ugly Betty' (her name is America) is one of the "sisters of the traveling pants' which is this chick flick from last year. I like Vanessa Williams in it actually.
As for other new tv series, I like 'Six Degrees' the most.

I know[/Monica]! Well chuffed about that; even though it looks like it's been sucking ass. Bad Sorkin is better than no Sorkin (and no bad Sorkin can be worse than the second season of Sports Night, and Dana's "dating plan").

I missed this Nova program on Tuesday night since my work dinner dragged on. I hope to catch the rerun.
Really TP? Too bad for Six Degrees. Studio 60 got a lot of hype but for some reason I keep missing it. I have been watching a lot of interesting shows on the Travel Channel lately instead of the network shows. I have been following this British chef's journey around Italy in his VW camper. He cooked at a monastery and planted a herb garden, did his first terrible culinary deed (killed an animal for food and actually cried while doing it), etc. I have seen reruns of Michael Palin's journey in the Himalayas too.
