 Rugby 6 Nations showing anywhere?
I see that the 6 Nations is supposed to be starting this weekend - England vs Scotland and Italy vs France. Anyone know if North Shields will be showing the matches, otherwise any ideas where we can catch the games?

Irish centre on Balo Sokak in Taksim is usually the best bet for this. Unfortunately coupled with expensive and tepid beer
A friend of mine actually called last weekend to ask if anyone would like to watch it in Balans Bar a few doors up from Irish centre. If there was enough interest, we could swing it. That is if the manager actually follows thru on his promise (and actually has the means to show the matches!)

North Shields in Etiler will show it, but we had problems last year with them: they wouldn't put the sound up, so I wont go back.
For a better atmosphere and a decent drink (Guinness for 10ytl - not back monkeyboy!!) go to James Joyce (irish centre)

North Sheilds in Sultan Ahmet, just across from Gulhane Park entrance, also the tramway from Kabatas stops outside the door, and i mean really on the door step so its easy to get too, its a newish place so not many regulars at the moment which is good, has Sky and Showtime, large beers & bottled beers such as miller etc 8ytl, not sure about price of guiness, has 3 large flat screen TV's very well positioned. COME ON ENGLAND !

Can check/speak with the Balans bloke to confirm (mate). There are 3 screens but 2 are small and the big one strangely placed. Beer variety is good though (if they haven't run out) and cheap.
James Joyce has a bigger screen but the beer is limited/expensive and can get crowded (a good and bad thing).
How about an EiT discount on the Guiness boys? Can have a word. Post in here if you want me to go for it.
How about Ekvator or North Shield Etiler?

Forget NS Etiler, they'll say that we can have sound but when they eventually do put it on its always very low, for the games that start at 6pm they'll have music on for sure.

Charly: The guy at Eqvator said he could arrange any sports coverage if there was a suitable demand (especially during slow sessions).Give him a try, the beer should be cheaper

If we can arrange a bit of a better deal somewhere, I'm all for it! I'd also feel better knowing for sure that the rugby was definitely going to be on - not just 'they have Sky, so it should be on', only to turn up there and they're not showing any rugby at all

Or join FD and me at the Red Lion Club in Ankara, all the matches, cheap food and a 500ml bottle of Efes at 3.50 lira.
