"The Office" (American version on the web)
Last week's episode of "The Office" (American version) was pretty funny...here: http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/
Other episodes can be found here: http://www.dailymotion.com/visited/search/office/1

I think the NBC feeds work only in the US. There are ways round it, but I can't be arsed.
Love the show though; very, very funny.

Nowhere near as good as the original though. The American one seems a little too contrived to me. I guess it's the same with any programme re-made for a specific market.

It's a different concept though. Whereas the original went out of its way to emphasise the fact that it was a mockumentary, the American one just uses it as a very flimsy excuse, and a loose framework, for what is, by all definitions, a sit-com. Nothing wrong with that, surely.

Not at all, it's just that having seen the British version, the American one is a little tame. After all, I very much doubt that the "crack of Dawn" line would be used. When not feeling my usual jolly self I cheer myself up by putting on an Office DVD, always picks me up.

I loved the original British series, it had me laughing in disbelief many times per episode. The horrifically awkward silences were great, they were what made the show, in my book. I've only seen a few episodes of the US version, but the pace was sped up to leave little room for silence. I should give it another chance, though.
BTW, when I want to laugh my ass off, this is the clip I go to (David Bowie sing about Ricky's pug nose face)...
